Shadows fill an empty heart
As love is fading,
From all the things that we are
But are not saying.
Can we see beyond the scars
And make it to the dawn?
Change the colors of the sky.
And open up to
The ways you made me feel alive,
The ways I loved you.
For all the things that never died,
To make it through the night,
Love will find you.
What about now?
What about today?
What if you're making me all that I was meant to be?
What if our love never went away?
What if it's lost behind words we could never find?
Baby, before it's too late,
What about now?
The sun is breaking in your eyes
To start a new day.
This broken heart can still survive
With a touch of your grace.
Shadows fade into the light.
I am by your side,
Where love will find you.
What about now?
What about today?
What if you're making me all that I was meant to be?
What if our love had never went away?
What if it's lost behind words we could never find?
Baby, before it's too late,
What about now?
Now that we're here,
Now that we've come this far,
Just hold on.
There is nothing to fear,
For I am right beside you.
For all my life,
I am yours.
What about now?
What about today?
What if you're making me all that I was meant to be?
What if our love had never went away?
What if it's lost behind words we could never find?
What about now?
What about today?
What if you're making me all that I was meant to be?
What if our love had never went away?
What if it's lost behind words we could never find?
Baby, before it's too late,
Baby, before it's too late,
Baby, before it's too late,
What about now?
Unlike any other banal MV that feature the artist singing boisterously on the stage, jamming inside a garage or even singing while taking off his clothes and then jump into the ocean, this music video of Daughtry delivers something extraordinary. This music video is dedicated to the unfortunates who are still waiting for a hand to assist, and to the suffering accommodation called the Earth. Daughtry and his band are trying to emphasize on what we are facing nowadays.
One of the most vital messages that this MV is trying to portray is that we shouldn’t neglect others regardless whoever they are, whatever their status are, whatever they do, or even did; they are still a mankind as we are. The prisoners, the street vagabonds, the homeless and etc. are examples of the unfortunates. Some may consider being a trashloader or a draincleaner is a pitiful job them and even assume as blots on the landscape; but they still can contribute something to the community. Without them, we couldn’t rely to anyone better. Besides that, the MV also features some calamity's scene all around the world, which egg on the laity to assist them no matter how.
Unfortunately, there are among of us who don't know how to appreciate wealth enough, still carving for more and more green notes galore. It s a norm to spend when we have money, but those shopaholic must bare in ind that there are those out there who are not lucky enough to afford what they want. Subsequently, a line in he MV, ‘I’m an average Joe’, shows that most of us is 1, an average person since we were born. It is just the matter of changing the ‘average’ into an ‘ambitious’ Joe that care not only about the people around them, but the world they live as well.
Seriously if you care about our polluting earth, and if you couldn’t make a skateboard out of recycled goods, at least you could pick a litter or two on the sideways and dump them into the appropriate dustbin; every man’s Jack can do that right? You might also wanted to pity those who are suffering from Kwashiorkor, by trying to fast like hell like Gandhi did, but you are worried that nobody cares as you’re just an low-class Joe unlike him, and because of the oodles of luscious ads on TV featuring Ronald McDonald’s and Kennie Roger’s food that keep you drooling your saliva and you would end up dying without bringing any changes in the world. Well then, start with something simple, like making a donation or even a prayer to the unfortunates is good enough. Then steps by steps, you can be like one of those in the MV, and answer that ‘can I make a difference?’ question with ‘I’m doing one!’- heartily.
Apparently, most and every people on the planet are aware of the woes that happen all around the world; nature’s annihilation, poverty, wars, maladies catastrophes and even lack of basic needs such as education, water etc. are unimpeded. But surely, they can be minimized. I mean give it a thought, if a valiant lad could try to stop a moving tank, or even if each lad could contributes at least a penny each, to aid the crying misfortunate children in Palestine that had their parents barbarically bombarded , wouldn’t the future looks brighter to them?
