Life's Like That

Another book by the local writer, the prequel of the ‘Honk! If You’re A Malaysian’ – Dame and damsel, meet ‘Life’s Like That’ by Lydia Teh
She describes her views on Malaysian’s life in her way that’ll make you nod and giggle on each page. Each story made me nod-nod shook-shook, and say “betul-betul!” as Upin and Ipin do; or simply in Manglish-Best!
Like the way how she describes her salutation and sarcasm verdict...and of course she once again utters oodles of jargon adjectives(..yup, I flipped the dictionary a lot). This time, she wrote quite a story about her family, regardless from her experience as a pregnant mom, to the comical, yet sickening episode about ‘golden ore’ of ears(lu pikir la sindri), what to do while you’re depositing money in ‘the bank’ aka poo-poo (still, lu pikir la sindri).

There are some stories I like to read over and over again which never bore me..among them are :
Not as easy as ABC – about her experience on being a kindergarten

Door to door encounters - When someone knock our doors and with a sly smile aka sellsman

Waxing lyrical over ‘raisins’ - the aforementioned nauseating ear-digging project.

Wish list – a mom’s wishes, hopefully that her children are working on ‘em

Just loo it – this 1 is a bizarre topic of what to do when you’re defecating aka poo-poo or ng-ng!

Burpy days are here again – Talk about Malaysian’s no. 1 durian…

A letter to my unborn baby – a tender episode of a letter from a pregnant mom, to her baby

Kids on errand – bring along your toddlers when you’re on errands and funny things surely will happen

Toilet training Su Yen – Training a toddle how to ‘u-uh’ is a hard chore indeed.
…..and oodles more that couldn’t be mentioned. Entirely, syok!
